1. Describe the market scene in the beginning of the Chapter.
Ans :- The market was really crowded. The shops were full of items waiting to be sold. Though things were expensive, people were buying them anyway. There was unemployment, but people were eating drinking.

Q2. Who was Rizwan? Where was he standing ? For whom was he looking?
Ans:- Rizwan was a journalist.
He was standing at a shop selling cold drinks in the crowded market place.
He was looking for someone who worked for a living but was not a shop-owner.

Q3. Who was the man walking in Rizwan's direction ? What was he carrying on his head? Why?
Ans:- The man who was walking in Rizwan's direction was kasim, a middle-aged rag-seller.
He was carrying a load on his head.
He was carrying a load because he wanted to sell warm clothes to the labourers near the ditch.

Q4. What was Rizwan doing in the market ?
Ans:- Rizwan had found a job for himself through an acquaintance in the Kihaan newspaper. He had been given work on the condition that first he would contribute few articles, and then he would be considered for the jib. He had been told to submit interviews with five people along with their names and addresses. He was looking for the people in the market whom he could interview.

Q5. How was the government helping the poor farmers? For what purpose had the speaker been sent by the government? What was Kasim's response to his statement ?
Ans:- The government was helping the poor farmers by providing them land for farming.
The speaker had been sent by the government to help the poor labourers, to talk to them, to understand them, so as to give them a better life.
Kasim responded that he didnot want it as they had been asked a lot of questions last time too and then after the procession nobody remembered anything.
